Why is the top of the table so close?
The top two vendors win on different criteria. Scytale leads on expert guidance model and AI assistance; Vanta leads on integrations and evidence automation, AI assistance and trust center and questionnaires. A buyer who moves a few points of weight from one group to the other changes the order. That is a feature of the category, not a flaw in the scoring: these platforms solve the same problem in different ways.

Stated customer bases run from Vanta's 16,000+ down to Scytale's 1000+ companies and Thoropass's more than 1,000 organizations, the smallest in this lineup; Drata states 8,500+, Secureframe 6000+ and Sprinto 4,000+. We do not score customer counts. A larger base says something about market reach but nothing about whether a vendor's service model fits your team. It is still a fair demo question: ask how many customers of your size and stage the vendor serves.
Which vendor fits which starting point?
If you are a first-time buyer without a compliance owner, start with the leaders on the expert model and audit path: Scytale and Thoropass. If an engineer will run the program, start with the integrations leader, Vanta. If finance needs a number first, start with the pricing transparency leader, Secureframe. The calculator turns these starting points into a ranking.
What do the six vendors publish about price?
One vendor publishes a figure: Secureframe's Fundamentals plan starts at $7,500/year for one framework. Vanta, Drata, Sprinto and Scytale publish plan names and contents without prices, and Thoropass publishes neither prices nor plans. For a shortlist, that means five of six budgets are unknown until a call. Ask every vendor for a quote at your headcount and framework count in the same week, so you compare like with like, and ask what the renewal price will be.
What is not in the ledger?
We do not score review-site ratings, stated customer counts, vendor speed claims or features a vendor marks as coming soon. We also do not score pen testing, which Scytale and Thoropass describe and the other four do not on the pages we read. If any of those matter to you, weigh them separately after the calculator has narrowed the list.
