Trust centers and security questionnaires after your SOC 2 report
Short answer
Once you have a SOC 2 report, customers will still send security questionnaires. A trust center publishes your security posture and lets prospects request the report; questionnaire automation drafts answers from your existing controls. Five of the six vendors on our ledger describe a trust center.

What is a trust center?
A trust center is a public page, often on your own subdomain, that lists your certifications, policies and security practices and lets a prospect request the SOC 2 report under NDA. It cuts the number of one-off emails your team answers. Scytale says its Trust Center is pre-filled from compliance data and can launch in under 10 minutes; Sprinto includes a public trust center with a custom domain on Foundation; Vanta includes a Trust Center on every plan; Drata includes Trust Center Standard on Foundation and sells a separate Assurance platform; Secureframe includes one on Fundamentals.

How does questionnaire automation work?
The platform reads an incoming questionnaire and drafts answers from your controls, policies and previous answers. A person should review each answer before it goes out. Scytale describes AI auto-fill with human expert review. Vanta's Plus plan includes 25 questionnaires a year and Professional 144; Sprinto's Foundation includes 20 a year; Secureframe puts questionnaire automation on its Complete plan; Drata lists AI Questionnaire Assistance on Foundation.

How much weight should this carry?
It depends on your sales volume. A company answering a few questionnaires a year can handle them by hand. A company answering dozens should check the allowance on each plan and ask what happens above it. Our trust center criterion carries a weight of 10 out of 100.
What should you check?
Whether the trust center supports NDA gating for the report; whether answers are drawn from live control data or a static library; who reviews AI answers; and how the allowance is counted.
Should the trust center go live before the report?
Many teams publish a trust center while the audit is in progress, listing policies and practices and noting that the report is underway. Once the report is issued, add it behind an NDA request. Keep the page current: an outdated trust center undermines the report it is meant to support.
How do trust features connect to the rest of the program?
A trust center is only as current as the controls behind it. When the platform feeds it from live compliance data, a failed control or an expired policy shows up in the platform before a customer sees stale information. Questionnaire answers drawn from the same data stay consistent with your SOC 2 report, which matters when a customer's reviewer compares the two.
